This month’s news – October 2017

Well, another month goes by without any news. I was away for much of September (on holiday, not in prison) hence the gaping hole in the gig list. Speaking of which, there are now lots of new ones on the Gigs page, and I’m writing a new song about sandwiches. It is absolutely disgusting! I’m proud and ashamed of myself in equal measure.

August 2017

Hope you’re enjoying this splendidly British (ie. rainy) summer. While everyone else is up in Edinburgh getting drunk and blowing a small fortune trying to get noticed, I’m hoovering up all the nice gigs here in London. This month I’ll be at Angel Comedy, Up The Creek and Soho Theatre. Have a look at the gigs page for all the details.

Sorry I missed July’s news. In my defence, there wasn’t any.

June 2017

Are you waiting for a new video? Someone must be, surely. So for that person/those people, I can reveal there’s a new film in the pipeline. Now I know I said that last month but this time I really mean it. I am finishing the audio recording next week, and should be briefing the director shortly. If you just can’t wait until then, I do have some nice gigs coming up. You’ll find them on the Gigs page. If they’re near where you live, why not pop in? If they’re not, persuade* your local comedy club to put me on the bill. I’d be eternally grateful.

* Use force / veiled threats / the promise of sexual favours as appropriate.

May 2017

I’m back (did you miss me?)

After a month’s absence from the comedy circuit, I’m back in May doing some jolly nice gigs with some jolly nice people. You can see them on the Gigs page. If you’re nearby, do come along and say hello. I’m also about to shoot a third video, about men with beards. So watch out for that on my YouTube channel, which is here https://www.youtube.com/user/AntDewson

April 2017

Annoyingly, I’ve had to cancel most of my gigs in April, ‘cause I have to have an operation. Don’t worry, it’s nothing life threatening.

Now That’s What I Call Musical Comedy is still going ahead without me, on 5th April at lovely The Bill Murray in Islington (39 Queen’s Head St, London N1 8NQ). Do go, it’ll be a brilliant night. The acts are great, it’s free to get in, and there’s nothing on the telly apart from Question Time!

I will be back gigging in May, so that’s something for us all to look forward to. And when I say all, I do of course mean me.

March 2017

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY. I’m hosting some of the funniest musical comedians in the UK at The Bill Murray in Islington, on WEDNESDAY 5th APRIL. They include impressionist and beatboxer Stefano Paolini (Dead Ringers, Radio 4), award-winning comedy songstress Kate Lucas (“a razor sharp wit” Broadway Baby), one-time blue-eyed boy of British pop Quint Fontana (“raucously entertaining” The Guardian) and Musical Comedy Awards audience favourite Jon Long (“clever gags and witty songs” Bruce Dessau).

It’s FREE to get in, and starts at 8pm. But try to get there early. With a bill like that, it should be busy.

Date: Wednesday 5th April
Catchy title: Now That’s What I Call Musical Comedy
Time: 8.00pm to 10.00pm
Price: FREE (with a collection at the end)
Place: Angel Comedy @ The Bill Murray, 39 Queen’s Head St, Islington, London N1 8NQ.
Tubes: Angel (5 minutes walk) or Highbury & Islington (10 minutes walk)
More details at: angelcomedy.co.uk

New Video!

I’ve just added a new video (on the audio/video page, obvs). Why not have a look. It features my lovely friend Charmaine bending over a wheelie bin. You’re gonna love it… and if you do, could you please share it with your friends. I want to be a YouTube star like Zoella.

I'm off

Off to Clacton-On-Sea this Friday, not for me holidays, for a gig at the West Cliff Theatre. Pop in, if you’re passing. All the details are on the Gigs page.
